Snow White
Pantomine season has arrived at Malvern Festival Theatre with the enchanting tale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Heading the cast is the delectable Su Pollard as the Wicked Queen. Commanding the stage every second she is on, Su offers up a diva of a baddie that the audience will simply love to hate. Her years of theatre work shine through during the performance and she revels in the cacophony of boos and hisses. Shaun Curry plays her unwilling Henchman with a dramatic air and is set the gruesome task of killing Snow White and returning with her heart in a casket. This plan fails and Snow White runs deep into the forest to be befriended by the seven dwarfs, Smiler, Silly, Sneezy, Grouchy, Twitcher, Kip and Pop.
Snow White is delightfully portrayed by Danielle Corlass, who charms the audience with her sweet and kind nature. Andrew Agnew, of Balamory fame, gave an excellent performance has Muddles the Jester. A definite favourite with the younger members of the audience, it was clear that he was having a wonderful time.
The remainder of the cast was made up of six senior dancers including our very own Alice Bendall, from Malvern, who is in her 2nd year at Arts Educational in London. These performers enhanced every scene with their seemingly endless supply of energy and their sheer enjoyment of performing. The junior dancers are members of the Cecilia Hall Dance Centre and characterised a variety of woodland animals and villagers with gusto.
With songs ranging from High School Musical to Robbie Williams, all tastes are catered for. There is a wealth of audience participation and the gags come thick and fast, some whizzing over the children’s heads to the appreciation of the adults. The atmosphere was electric and it was a joy to see so many young people enjoying the experience of live theatre. The magical sets, lighting and special effects captivated everyone through the entire show.
The performance is pure entertainment in its most traditional form. Make your festivities special and go and see Snow White. It runs until 6th January 2008.

I came last thursday with my 10year old daughter & her friend, It was our first time at Malvern theatre, and we thought the performance of snow white was excellant. We Went to see Peter Pan at Birmingham rep the week before, which was very good, but the staff, the atmoshpere and the performance was much better at Malvern. We had a really good evening, an excellent start to our christmas.
Can't wait to come back soon.
Merry Christmas to all, Thank you & well done.
Saw the show tonight (22nd Dec) with my God Daughter. We absolutely loved it!!
The singing and dancing by all the cast was superb. Su Pollard was a great wicked queen. Although she gave my God Daughter a fright sneaking up behind her, while we were sitting up in the Circle (that was our highlight of the night).
But my favourite has got to be 'Muddles' played by Andrew Agnew. He is a brilliant entertainer and was a joy to watch.
Definitely worth going to see!!
The show was amazing. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you to all the cast and people that helped to make it a wonderful evening. Simon Leigh was great as the Prince
very good - Sue Pollard was Great
Best Panto I have seen!!!
