It is for his interpretation of Beethoven that John Lill is perhaps most revered and this recital includes four sonatas
that span all stages of the composer’s life. As well as the three well-known “named” sonatas – Pathetique, Appassionata and Moonlight – Lill will also play Beethoven’s last ever sonata Op.111 generally considered the composer’s farewell to the instrument. John Lill is well-known to Malvern audiences and has previously played
concertos by Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms in the Forum Theatre.
