Live Broadcasts from The Royal Opera House
Ondine
Set to music by Hans Werner Henze, Ondine was created in 1958 for Margot Fonteyn by Frederick Ashton, and was revived last year by The Royal Ballet to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The whole Company takes part in bringing to life the sea spirits and sailors of this Romantic tragic story of sprite Ondine and mortal Palemon, with its wonderful scenes beneath the sea, in a Gothic castle and onboard a storm-tossed ship.
