Dreamboats and Petticoats became one of the biggest selling albums of the decade after its release last year, amassing an amazing 600,000+ sales, with the second album, Dreamboats and Petticoats Two, rocketing to number two in the charts within the first week of its release. open quote marks Inspired by the best selling compilation CD, Dreamboats and Petticoats, has been magically transformed into a wonderfully frothy and fun musical for all ages. The incredibly talented cast of actor musicians recount the highs and lows of teenage love in a town in Essex during the early sixties. Over forty fantastic tunes from that era are cleverly linked by a brilliantly witty script from the writer’s of ‘Birds of a Feather’, ‘The New Statesman’ and ‘Shine On Harvey Moon’, Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran. The direction and choreography are slick and the sound and lighting superb. An energetic cast of eighteen includes X-factor finalist Scott Bruton, Ben Freeman who played Scott Windsor in Emmerdale, Jennifer Biddall who was Jessica Harris in Hollyoaks and David Cardy who played Chris Theodopolopodous in Birds of a Feather. The vocal performances from all the cast are amazing and appear effortless. The most stunning vocals came from the extremely unassuming Daisy Wood-Davis who enchanted the audience with every note she sang. Featuring classic tracks from Roy Orbison, The Shadows, Eddie Cochran, Billy Fury, Chuck Berry and many more, including Let’s Dance, To Know Him Is To Love Him, Shaking All Over, In Dreams, Bobby’s Girl, Three Steps To Heaven, Little Town Flirt, Only Sixteen, Runaround Sue, Happy Birthday Sweet 16, What A Wonderful World, Let’s Twist Again and many more hits from music’s golden era this toe-tapping, hand-clapping, hip-shaking show and will have you up out of your seats and dancing the night away. I whole-heartedly recommend you see this show! Dreamboats and Petticoats runs from Monday till Saturday, June 8-13. Tickets cost £20-£26 available on 01684 892277 or at malvern-theatres.co.uk. close quote marks

They were the sounds of those first sexual awakenings when hormones have an agenda the mind hardly understands. Some in the audience had lost their partners of those youthful days as t...... more open quote marks
