Starring Martin Shaw & Jenny Seagrove
The Country Girl
Frank Elgin, once a great theatre star, is down on his luck but when he is offered a major role by hotshot director Bernie Dodd, he has the chance to make a comeback. Will Frank regain his confidence and save his turbulent career? Will he be supported in his quest for a second chance by his long suffering wife? Martin Shaw and Jenny Seagrove are reunited in the roles played by Morgan Freeman and Frances McDormand on
Broadway in 2008, and by Bing Crosby and Grace Kelly in the Oscar winning film. Shaw’s last UK theatre tour was the record-breaking run of A Man for All Seasons. Perhaps best known for his starring roles in George Gently and the BAFTA award winning series Judge John Deed, he will be joined by his co-star from that hugely popular series, Jenny Seagrove. Seagrove is fresh from critical acclaim in this year’s West End production of A Daughter’s A Daughter, described by the Daily Telegraph as ‘the finest performance of her career’.

Wow.
With Martin Shaw and Jenny Seagrove you know to expect the very best, and you are not disappointed.
Equally brilliant is Mark Letheren.
A packed theatre was kept spellbound.
What a performance. The three main leads are exceptional.
The reaction at the end, nearly lifted the theatre roof.
Even the scenery changes are undertaken creatively.
The best play i have seen by a country mile!
