Volatile and melancholy poet Tetro went missing a decade ago after his family had emigrated from Italy to Argentina. Now his younger brother, 17-year-old Bennie, arrives in Buenos Aires to find him. However, when he finally tracks Tetro down, Bennie finds that his older brother is not all he expected. As he stays with Tetro and his girlfriend Miranda, Bennie and his brother have to come to terms with the haunting experiences of their shared past.
