Mister Humbug
Tis the night before Christmas and the world is in good spirits, but what about the good spirits themselves, the Christmas ghosts? Where are they?
Every year at this time three friendly ghouls get together for their Christmas party. Pasty, Preston and Tamara are all very different from each other: but they all have one thing in common. THEY LOVE CHRISTMAS!
MISTER HUMBUG HATES CHRISTMAS. Horatio Humbug is not a ghost, he is a mean, grumpy, old man who gets very angry about all the happiness and laughter in the world at Christmas time.
The friendly ghosts get a message from Father Christmas telling them that MISTER HUMBUG has forgotten how to enjoy Christmas and it seems he has even forgotten how to enjoy life. Their mission is to right this wrong, so they transport themselves to Mister Humbug's gloomy London bedsit. Using their magical skills and a very unusual time machine, they make the old miser look at his past, they reveal to him the future he faces if he doesn't start to be a bit nicer and they make him look at the life he leads with fresh eyes. Come along and join in the challenge of cheering up this miserable old skinflint.
Loosely based on Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, Pandora's Box Theatre Company have given this classic tale a light-hearted and comic treatment that is guaranteed to appeal to children under ten and their families. With songs and laughter, colourful sets and costumes, puppetry and special effects, MISTER HUMBUG will brighten up any child's Christmas and what's more, it is crammed full with opportunities for the audience to participate.
