Stage set for dramatic partnership

Malvern Theatres and Malvern Hills College are joining forces to develop the next generation of theatre professionals – make-up artists, costumer designers and special effects prdoucers.

Malvern Hills College has become a corporate partner of the theatre as a way to promote its arts-based courses and to enhance the experience of its students. To mark the start of the relationship, WCG Group Principal and Chief Executive, Angela Joyce shook on the deal with Malvern Theatres’ Head of Development, Emma Maggs.

Ms Joyce commented: “We offer qualifications that are directly related to a career in theatre – such as our Extended Diploma in Production Arts (Theatrical, Costume, Special Effects, Media) – and a huge variety of other creative courses such as our brand new Foundation Degree in Fine Art and Contemporary Craft. It makes real sense for two of the town’s biggest cultural institutions to work more closely together.”

Emma Maggs added: “Malvern Theatres is committed to training the next generation of theatre professionals and our respected Young Company, traineeships and advanced professional course are celebrated across the industry.”

“We’re delighted to now be working alongside Malvern Hills College and we already have a date in the diary to explore new opportunities.”
