Benjamin Grosvenor and Hyeyoon Park in Recital

1st June 2018 7:45 pm

Beethoven: Violin Sonata No. 8 in G Op.30 No.3

Ravel: Violin Sonata

Bartok: Rhapsody No.1 for Violin and Piano

Brahms: Violin Sonata No.3 in D minor Op.108

Hyeyoon Park (Violin)
Benjamin Grosvenor (Piano)

Having made her orchestral debut with the Seoul Philharmonic aged nine, violinist Hyeyoon Park received the London Music Masters Award in 2012 propelling her international career, performing with leading orchestras across Europe and in Japan. Hyeyoon’s UK engagements this year include her concerto debut in London with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Osmo Vänskä.

Since winning the Keyboard Final of the 2004 BBC Young Musician Competition at the age of 11, pianist Benjamin Grosvenor has enjoyed a spectacular career. In 2011 he played at the First Night of the BBC Proms and, in 2015, at the Last Night, playing Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 2. Benjamin Grosvenor has appeared at Malvern Theatres both as a concerto soloist and in solo recital. For his first chamber music recital here, he and Hyeyoon Park will perform some of the best known works from the violin sonata repertoire.

‘Benjamin Grosvenor may well be the most remarkable young pianist of our time’ Gramophone Magazine

‘You have winners, and you have future stars. Hyeyoon Park is among the latter’ Münchner Merkur
