An aspiring actress and dedicated jazz musician fall in love in LA.
Mia (Emma Stone) wants to be an actress. Unfortunately, her career has yet to take off, so she spends most of her time serving coffee to the stars and attending auditions, waiting for her big break.
Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) is a passionate musician, struggling to pay the bills by playing his eclectic jazz music in dive bars.
When the two meet, they steadily and passionately fall in love. As their relationship matures, so do their careers, with the two enjoying the kind of success only Los Angeles can bring. Unfortunately, LA gives with one hand and takes with the other, putting their delicate relationship under unexpected pressure.
