THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI (15)

26th January 2018 - 1st February 2018

After her daughter is brutally murdered and the police fail to catch the killer, Mildred Hays takes matters into her own hands and puts up 3 billboards that send the small town into chaos.

One fateful night, Mildred Hays’ (Frances McDormand) life turns into a nightmare that she will never wake up from. Her daughter, Angela, is brutally murdered. And her killer is on the loose.

“The more you keep a case in the public eye, the better your chances are of getting it solved.”That’s the mantra Mildred Hays adopts after months of painful silence from the local police department in Ebbing, Missouri. Fed up with the lack of effort from Chief Willoughby (Woody Harrelson) and the rest of the officers, Mildred decides to take matters into her own hands.

She puts up 3 billboards, which state the brutal way her daughter died and speak directly at the man in charge, issuing a challenge – “And still no arrests. How come, Chief Willoughby?”

As expected, the billboards create a wave of tension in the small town, which slowly builds into a tsunami when the people turn on Mildred. But she’s come this far, and there’s no way she’s backing down. Her initial statement soon spirals into a full-on war between Mildred and anyone who tries to stand in her way.

Directed by Martin McDonagh (Seven Psychopaths, In Bruges), Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri has received critical acclaim across the board and won the People’s Choice Award at Toronto International Film Festival.

Oscar-winning actress Frances McDormand (Fargo) gives a stunning performance as the grieving mother with a fiery agenda, and Woody Harrelson (War for the Planet of the Apes) plays the conflicted police chief.
