HELP US PROVIDE AUDIO DESCRIBED CINEMA Malvern Theatres is appealing for donations towards an audio description system to aid customers with sight problems.   The theatre has already made several applications to trusts for funding for the equipment needed for audio description and is awaiting responses. To make the cinema suitable for audio description costs £8,000 and for the whole building would cost £35,000.   Malvern Cinema is pleased to report a 41 per cent growth in admissions over the last three years, thanks to our varied film programme. Free Cinema for Primary Schools - November 2017 Malvern Theatres gave nearly 600 free cinema tickets to local primary schools this Autumn as part of an initiative to better engage children with film. Pupils from The Grove, Great Malvern, Colwall, Hanley Swan, Claines and Withington primary schools took part and for some it was the first time they had visited the cinema. The ‘Into Film’ project provides children with inspiring opportunities to learn about and with film, and develop a passion for cinema (www.intofilm.org). MALVERN INTRODUCES SUBTITLED CINEMA   Malvern Theatres is introducing subtitled screenings of new cinema releases, thanks to a generous donation in a will. The showings will usually be scheduled for 4.30pm on Thursdays, though visitors should check the website for details each week.   As well as now offering subtitled films, the theatre also does monthly relaxed screenings.
