My Year With The Flying Scotsman

19th September 2017 7:45 pm

An Illustrated talk by the film maker DAVID PARKER

Is there a finer sight than the grace and power of a huge steam engine on the move?

The award winning television programme maker, David Parker, was lucky enough to be able to spend 12 months filming the rebuilding of Flying Scotsman, regarded by many as the world’s most famous steam engine. But the year was anything but a bed of roses. In this illustrated talk David will talk about how he first got involved with filming the ‘Scotsman’ and some of the challenges involved with filming across a year with a team of craftsman under extraordinary pressure.

Ticket price includes a £1 contribution to our heritage fund.
