Where is Anne Frank (12A) Borderlines Film Festival – Preview

20th March 2022 2:00 pm

Following the Oscar-nominated Waltz with Bashir, Ari Folman returns with an animated adaptation of Anne Frank’s much-loved classic The Diary of a Young Girl.

Kitty is the imaginary friend to whom Anne dedicated her diary. A fiery teenager, Kitty wakes up in the near future in Anne Frank’s house in Amsterdam and embarks on a journey to find her
friend, whom she believes is still alive, in today’s Europe. While the young girl is shocked by the modern world, she also realises the scope of Anne’s legacy.

Folman’s wondrous animation allows for vivid retelling of historical narrative alongside bold leaps of imagination.
