Event Navigation
Fuelled by a supercool soundtrack, a talented young getaway driver earns his stripes as the best in his game, but walking away with his life in tact is going to be his bumpiest ride to date.
When a horrific car smash leaves young Baby (Ansel Elgort) scarred, and suffering from tinnitus, he quickly learns that only one thing can drown out the constant ringing: good music, whether it happens to be Barry White, The Damned or The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.
Fast forward to young adulthood, and Baby is the go-to getaway driver for a ruthless crime lord named Doc (Kevin Spacey), who utilises his rousing iPod playlists to catapult him to the top of his game.
And then he meets a beautiful waitress called Deborah (Lily James), and his whole world changes. Already weary of a life built by crime, he accepts one last heist to go straight and elope with his love. But, for Doc and the rest of his criminal fraternity, this driver is just too good to let go.
Baby Driver received universal acclaim upon release, with critics queueing up to heap praise upon versatile writer and director, Edgar Wright.
Having enjoyed success with a diverse range of titles, including cult TV show Spaced (1999), Shaun of the Dead (2004), Hot Fuzz (2007) and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), Wright seems to have the Midas touch across a range of genres.
Ansel Elgort puts in a star turn as the lead, and already has several hit movies under his belt, including The Fault in Our Stars (2014), Allegiant (2016) and the forthcoming Billionaire Boys Club (2017).
The supporting cast features a heady mix of hot new talent and seasoned pros, including Lily James (Cinderella), Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained), Kevin Spacey (House of Cards) and Jon Hamm (Mad Men).
