Our soloist in this concert\, Toby Hughes\, is one of those and here he makes his second appearance with the orchestra. There are not many chances to hear double bass concertos and Chandos is looking forward to hearing him introduce us to another example of this rare repertoire\, this time by the Estonian composer Tubin. \nThe concert begins with Sibelius’ incidental music from a play about the love of King Christian II of Sweden for a Dutch girl and concludes with the completion of Chandos’ musical tour of Eastern Europe with the Symphony No. 8 of the Czech composer Dvorak. This is full of wonderful tunes\, including some lively dance passages\, before ending with a joyful finale. \n URL:https://www.malvern-theatres.co.uk/whats-on/chandos-symphony-orchestra/ CATEGORIES:Classical Music & Opera ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://www.malvern-theatres.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/toby-chandos.jpg END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
