24th August 2018 10:30 am
Event Navigation
A working class family man, Christopher Robin is under pressure from work to cancel his family plans, until his old friend Winnie the Pooh comes to his rescue.
When his boss calls an emergency meeting, Christopher Robin’s (Ewan McGregor) is put under pressure to cancel his family holiday with his wife, Evelyn (Hayley Atwell), and their young daughter. His boss gives him some harsh words when he tells him “I thought you’d do anything for this company.”
Christopher must decide whether to abandon his holiday plans and risk disappointing his family, or let down his boss by skipping the meeting. He decides to go on a walk through the Hundred Acre Woods to clear his head but ends up lost after wandering much further than he normally would. At a loss at what to do, Christopher sits down on a bench to contemplate his thoughts – but not for long.
To his relief, cuddly old friend from the past, Winnie the Pooh (Jim Cummings) turns up out of the blue to his rescue. Pooh helps him to restore balance between his working life and family by making him realise he must reconnect with childhood friends and memories to rediscover the joys of life.
From the studio that brought us Beauty and the Beast, Christopher Robin is a modern take on the beloved childhood classic, Winnie the Pooh, and brings together a stronghold of talent including Ewan McGregor and Hayley Atwell. Talented filmmaker Marc Foster (Finding Neverland), directs this live-action Disney animation and is set to be another classic in his ever-growing repertoire.
