Emma in Priory Park

4th August 2018 7:00 pm

Jenny Wren Productions present Jane Austen’s

EMMA

Adapted by Martin Millar and Doon MacKichan

Jenny Wren Productions delve into the dating scene of the early 19th century in this playful adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel. Emma constantly tries to pair off her unfortunate friend Harriet Smith with unsuitable men but is convinced that, for herself, the single life is the only way. Matches are made and unmade quicker than you can say “how delightful”, but after all the outrageous flirting, declarations of love and heaving of bosoms, will Emma’s heart escape unscathed?

As Jane Austen writes, members of her family become her characters; blushing heroines, dashing suitors, dastardly cads and many more, bringing her story of the ultimate matchmaker to mischievous life.

From the company that brought you Twelfth Night, Robin Hood and last year’s Jungle Book, make a date this summer with Jenny Wren Productions at a beautiful open-air venue near you.

“How very happy a summer must lie before us…”

Grounds open at 6pm for picnics.  Please bring blankets and chairs as they are not provided.
