An Evening with Sir Geoffrey Boycott
28th October 2021 7:45 pm
Event Navigation
An Evening with Geoffrey Boycott last appeared on stage in 2017. A great deal has happened since then – in the cricket world, the world at large and in the world of our Geoffrey. He has had major heart surgery, become a grandfather for the first time and finally been honoured with a long overdue knighthood.
Geoffrey’s many fans have expressed their deep disappointment at his disappearance from our airwaves. So, in a packed Autumn in which England are defending their T20 World Cup title and competing with the old enemy to wrest back control of The Ashes, here is their chance to hear what Geoffrey thinks about – well, everything!

A good evening, the link man excellent. Sir Geoff, fluent, articulate, remains arguably the best commentator on radio/ tv, hope he starts doing that again. The only downsides were it was essentially a one to one conversation with the compere and Sir Geoff with the audience as onlookers and eavesdroppers. That needs looking at. One way round that would be a Q & A at the end for 30 mins. GB got a bit bogged down with his admiration for Cloughie, that took a while. I would like to have heard more about his last Test, the infamous Golfing round, his eventual retirement etc. There's a lot to pack in, of course. Nonetheless, a very enjoyable evening.
