Katherine was sold to be the bride of a bitter man twice her age. When she gets a taste of freedom, she stops being a housewife and becomes ‘Lady Macbeth’.
She’s trapped in a life she never wanted with a cruel man and his cold family. When she begins a passionate affair with a young worker on the estate, she realises what her life could be, and will stop at nothing to obtain it.
Starring Florence Pugh as the titular ‘Lady Macbeth’, this is a portrait of a beautiful but merciless woman determined to seize her independence in a world dominated by men.
