After a series of bad decisions in the build-up to Christmas, Kate is ready to give up on the holiday season. But things could yet turn around when a handsome shopper crosses her path. Emilia Clarke, Emma Thompson, and Henry Golding star in this festive rom-com.

Serial bad-decision-maker Kate (Emilia Clarke) has been kicked out of her apartment, just in time for Christmas, and is forced to spend the festive period living with her family, including her ever-critical mother (Dame Emma Thompson).

To make matters worse, she works at a year-round Christmas shop and is forced to trudge around London dressed head to toe as Santa’s elf. Needless to say, she is close to calling it a day on the festive season.

However, things begin to turn for the frustrated slacker when she meets the suave, confident and handsome Tom (Henry Golding) during a shift. Bumping into each other again, Tom begins to see through each of Kate’s insecurities, learning that she’s much more than her outward appearance. Revealing her cynical attitude stems from a recent near-fatal illness, Kate explains she has since struggled to get on with a regular life.

But Tom has come at the perfect time, teaching her that simple acts of love and kindness can go a long way. Discovering a little festive feeling, Kate begins to believe that not everything is too good to be true…

Academy Award winner Dame Emma Thompson (Men in Black: International, Late Night, Johnny English Strikes Again) co-writes and stars alongside Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones, Me Before You, Solo: A Star Wars Story), and Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians, A Simple Favour) in this feel-good seasonal romantic comedy, featuring work from the late George Michael and directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, Spy, The Office).
