Lola & the Sea (15) Borderlines Film Festival

6th March 2022 - 7th March 2022

A stunning acting debut for Mya Bollaers in this road movie about a young trans girl skater.

Struck by the sudden loss of her mother at a pivotal moment in her life, veterinary student Lola returns home for the funeral and to face her estranged father Phillipe. To respect her mother’s last wishes, they reluctantly embark on a journey to the North Sea. Forced to spend time alone together, Phillipe begins to accept his daughter for the first time.

This tender exploration of family relationships and identity features music from Culture Club, Antony and the Johnsons and Four Non Blondes.
