Michael Brandon’s STAND UP STORY

October 11th 7:45 pm

Michael Brandon’s STAND UP STORY

In this brilliant, funny and engaging show, Michael Brandon tells how he gave himself two years to star in a Hollywood movie. After 50 years in the business, he lifts the lid on a half-century of showbiz personalities from De Niro to Pacino, Tony Curtis to Kim Novak and his ex-wife, the Bionic Woman!

In the UK, Michael shot to fame in the UK in the 80s iconic series Dempsey and Makepeace. In 2004, he was nominated for an Olivier Award as best actor for his title role performance in Jerry Springer: The Opera at the National Theatre. His many other UK theatre credits include Singing In The Rain, Wet Weather Cover, On The Waterfront and A View From the Bridge. On screen, he appeared in Captain America: The First Avenger, Dr. Who, The Catherine Tate Show, Tracey (Ullman) Breaks The News and four seasons as Elliot Salad in the hit comedy Episodes alongside Matt LeBlanc. Michael will soon be seen in Trust, produced and directed by Danny Boyle.

With original footage and rare photographs, this is an hilarious evening of eye-widening Hollywood truths!

FRINGEREVIEW

★★★★ Recommended Show

It’s high quality auto-biographical story stand-up, delivered with refreshing directness. It hits the ground running from the start and gives revealing insight into a life and into the world of movies and stardom. Recommended.

THE TELEGRAPH

★★★★☆

His is a rattling, often romance-steeped yarn, and his story of a drama-school audition nightmare is probably one of the funniest in the business. If you didn’t know or much care for this Anglophile American (who married his Makepeace, Glynis Barber, in 1989) at the start, by the end of his charm offensive you sure will.
