PAM AYRES
UP IN THE ATTIC
Pam Ayres has been making the nation laugh for 45 years. She will be performing poems from her latest book Up In The Attic, published last year, and newly released in paperback, along with classic poems and stories from her long career. Recent TV appearances include Springwatch, Celebrity Mastermind, and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip. Recent Radio includes Series 6 of Ayres On The Air, Just A Minute, I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, and Pam’s second appearance on Desert Island Discs.
“I keep smiling, remembering moments performed by the incredible @PamAyres at @CurveLeicester last night. Laughed and cried in equal measure. What a woman.” Jo Hayward, BBC Radio Leicester, review of Pam on 18 September 2018
“Pam Ayres is absolutely essential to British humour, reminding us all to be tickled by the small joys and ridiculousness of everyday life. It’s not something poets often do – they’re usually too deep in love, death and angst.” Mail on Sunday – June 2018
“Pam Ayres’ session was one of my highlights of the Hay Festival this year because I laughed so hard that my stomach ached for hours afterwards, and it is wonderful to witness a true craftswoman practice her art.” Review from Hay Festival 2015
