The National Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company
This delightful and rarely performed Operetta contains some of Sullivan’s most charming music. It tells the tale of a medieval Princess who eschews her marriage obligations to a neighbouring Prince and retreats to run a women’s college instead.
Based on Tennyson’s poem ‘The Princess’ Princess Ida is a treat for any devotee of Gilbert and Sullivan.
Founded in 1995 to perform at the annual G&S Festival, The National Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company is renowned for producing simply the very best G&S to be seen anywhere in the world. They return to Malvern Theatres in 2017 with HMS Pinafore, The Pirates of Penzance and a brand new production of Princess Ida.
