Structured around a previously unheard 1966 interview with Chaplin, it deftly blends audio with photographs, home movies and stunning dramatic reconstructions. It makes for a fascinating portrait of one of the biggest global celebrities ever, charting Chaplin’s rapid rise from a traumatic childhood in a London workhouse via music all to phenomenal fame in Hollywood, his troubling relationships with women and his subsequent fall from grace.
