Somewhere In The Night – 1946 (PG) Borderlines Film Festival

14th March 2022 4:30 pm

This rare film noir spans the supernatural, psychological manipulation, comedy and even a large hoard of Nazi money!

War veteran George Taylor finds himself suffering with amnesia. Helped by club singer Christy Smith, Taylor’s journey to recovery sharply turns into a journey involving lies, murder and deceit all set within the seedy criminal underworld of 1940s L.A.

In a tale written and directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz (All Above Eve, Cleopatra) in which nothing is what it seems, this is a forgotten gem from the 20th Century Fox back catalogue.

Screenings produced by Film Noir UK for Borderlines 2022. With thanks to Park Circus.

DIRECTOR: Joseph L. Mankiewicz
STARRING: John Hodiak, Nancy Guild, Lloyd Nolan, John Ireland
