Swimming With Men (12A)

3rd August 2018 - 5th August 2018

In an attempt to win back his wife and turn his life around, Eric (Rob Brydon) does what any guy would do – join an all-male synchronised swim team. What follows is a hilarious tale of speedos, spinning circles, and sub-surface soul searching, in this one-of-a-kind British comedy.

Eric’s life has taken a bit of a dive. An accountant who is less than thrilled with life in general, his jaded attitude has begun to take a toll on those around him. Especially his wife, Heather, who decides she can’t take it anymore and decides she’s leaving.

Desperate to turn things around, Eric resolves to pursue different channels and transform himself into a more open-minded, exciting person.

And what better way to do so than by joining an all-men’s synchronised swim team?

After stumbling across the self-explanatory Men Who Swim, Eric decides to don his trunks and join the group of odd but determined synchronised swimmers as they train for the world synchronised swimming championships in Milan.

As they work together to master the difficulties of becoming flowers, pyramids, and spinning circles, they slowly learn about the individual stories hidden beneath the swim caps. Together, they help each other to break out of the shallows and find a sense of belonging.

But now that Eric has learned how to stop treading water, will he be able to convince Heather to give him another chance?

Directed by Oliver Parker (Dad’s Army), Swimming With Men has been called “The Full Monty in speedos” and features a standout cast packed with British talent, including Rob Brydon (The Trip), Charlotte Riley (Peaky Blinders), Jane Horrocks (Talking with Angels), Jim Carter (Downton Abbey), and Daniel Mays (Rogue One).
