Delightful and infectiously joyous, Wild Rose’s star Jessie Buckley (Beast) radiates charisma as a young woman balancing her dreams of musical stardom with the responsibilities of motherhood. Fresh out of jail and with two young kids, RoseLynn Harlan is bursting with raw talent, cheek and a dream of getting out of Glasgow to make it as a country singer in Nashville. But her mum Marion (a fine performance by Julie Walters) has had a bellyful. Forced to take responsibility, Rose-Lynn gets a cleaning job, only to find an unlikely champion.
Always at the beating heart of the film is Buckley as the irrepressible Rose-Lynn, belting out her songs with confidence and flair.
