Famous American soprano Roxanne Coss travels to South American to perform a private concert for rich Japanese industrialist, Katsumi Hosokawa. But now she’s in the middle of a hostage crisis that could spell devastation for both Roxanne and her captors. When world renowned opera singer Roxanne Coss (Julianne Moore) is asked to perform at an exclusive event for the birthday of wealthy Japanese industrialist Katsumi Hosokawa, she is more than happy to oblige. Travelling to the South American location, there’s nothing to suggest that this is going to be any different to all the other concerts she’s performed.

However, just as the glittering collection of diplomats, politicians, and businesspeople gather for her performance, the lights cut. And gun shots ring out…

It becomes clear to Roxanne that the mansion has been taken over by rebels, and she’s become part of a terrifying hostage situation.

As Red Cross negotiator Joachim Messner (Sebastian Koch) begins to find out the rebel demands, those confined to the house must find way to work together. Amidst the chaos, Roxanne must rely on her voice to inspire a solution that will free everyone from a devastating fate.
