Viktoria Mullova is amongst the most exciting soloists of her generation, a violinist whose bold clarity of vision lets the music speak directly to the listener. She joins The Academy of Ancient Music and its Director Richard Egarr in performances of violin concertos by Bach and Haydn. These joyful concertos are performed alongside symphonies by Haydn and CPE Bach, which in turn are juxtaposed with sublime arias, including JS Bach’s transcendent Bekennen will ich seinen Namen (Cantata 200) sung by Countertenor James Hall.
“This is music like a warm breeze with an easygoing lyricism at its heart … Mullova’s bow dances across the strings with a virtuosity and panache few could match.”
Evening Standard
“To hear Mullova play Bach, is, simply one of the greatest things you can experience”
The Guardian
