The Real Thing ‘The Brand New Day Tour’

29th April 2022 7:45 pm

The Real Thing, with original vocalists Chris Amoo and Dave Smith and a live five-piece band, are on tour promoting their first new album of original material in 44 years –  A Brand New Day, along with their new soulful  single  Hang On Never Let Go.

The Real Thing enjoyed success in both the 1970s & 80s with 3 Top 10 singles. The No 1 Hit You To Me Are Everything, Can’t Get By Without You and Can You Feel The Force are all still featured daily on all the major UK radio stations. They also have around one million plays or more on Spotify each month.

They also had a  hit movie Everything  which  played nationally in cinemas and was  also aired on BBC and Chanel 4  in August 2020. This was followed by their Greatest Hits Album which made the official National Album charts and  reached No 2 in the Amazon download charts.

The Real Thing are undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with.

Event Reviews

  • David

What a great night!! Thank you guys. Great night great show great sound. Enjoyed large!

  • Jackie

Prior to the interval it was just the backing band playing. We went to have a drink in the bar. I’m not saying they weren’t talented musicians however that’s not what we paid for.
After the interval The Real Thing came on stage hour fractionally over an hour. I thought it was mediocre at best. Far too much talking and only really 3 good songs. Disappointing

  • Angie

Very disappointed, went to the show for 7.45pm as per the ticket time, had to listen to the band play for 20 minutes then a break, then The Real Thing came on at 9.15pm! and finished at 10pm!
Not even an hour on stage. The manager said in the interval when a large group queried things that The Real Thing would sing for 90 minutes yet we only had 45 minutes.
    Expensive night
