My Cousin Rachel (12A)

9th June 2017 - 22nd June 2017

This retelling of Daphne Du Maurier’s classic 1951 novel sees feelings of revenge held by a young Englishman become ever more complicated when hate turns to love.

Philip (Sam Claflin) – a young English gent in his twenties – is mourning the death of his much-loved cousin Ambrose, his former guardian.

Having moved to Italy in search of warmer climes, Ambrose succumbed to health problems while in the company of his new wife and Philip’s cousin, Rachel (Rachel Weisz).

Convinced that Rachel murdered Ambrose to inherit his vast fortune, there’s one thing Philip hasn’t accounted for – the emotion of love.

Upon his and Rachel’s next meeting, he succumbs to her charm. Were his suspicions of her murderous nature wrong and unfounded, or is she masquerading behind the guise of her own beauty?

In a whirlwind of emotions, will Philip uncover the truth about his former guardian’s passing, and if he indeed allows himself to fall for Rachel, will he ultimately end up being murdered next?

Directed by Roger Mitchell – famed for his work on classics such as Notting Hill and Changing Lanes – this latest film adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier’s acclaimed novel sees Rachel Weisz (The Light Between Oceans) and Sam Claflin (Me Before You, Keep Watching) take the entwining roles of Rachel and Philip.
