The Opera Show

3rd December 2023 3:00 pm

Wild Arts presents their popular Opera Show, featuring dramatic intrigue, jealousy and comedy.

Follow the four characters’ journeys through a lucid story that segues through over a dozen operas, with a programme including O mio Babbino Caro, the Act I Quartet from Beethoven’s Fidelio alongside lesser-known pieces from Bellini, Weill and Handel, high drama from Tchaikovsky, and lively ensembles by Mozart, Rodgers and Hammerstein, and Rossini.

A quintet of exceptional string players accompanies singers including the ‘exquisite’ Galina Averina who will soon make her Opera North début in the lead role of Magda in La Rondine by Puccini, the remarkable baritone Timothy Nelson, the ‘magnetic’ Martha Jones, and the outstanding young tenor Richard Dowling.

Wild Arts is a company of fine musicians and creatives, presenting opera with effervescent storytelling and quality performers, without the staid trappings of traditional opera.

Polished, sophisticated, engaging, and delightfully inventive.
Robert Hugill on The Elixir of Love, 2023
