Led by a nuanced performance by Nicolas Cage, this frontier epic, based on the seminal novel by John Edward Williams, follows a young Harvard drop-out into the Colorado wilderness in pursuit of a mythic herd of buffalo.
When Will (The White Lotus’s Fred Hechinger) forsakes his studies to join a gang of buffalo hunters in the 1870s, little does he know that the journey will put his life and sanity at risk. For Will and his ostensible mentor Miller (Cage), the adventure is both sublime and horrific, spiralling close to madness. Detailing a gripping and largely untold chapter in American history, Butcher’s Crossing is a riveting commentary on human nature, masculinity, and man’s relationship to his natural environment.

Please note: All entry to Malvern Cinema is currently through the fire exits located at the front (Grange Road) side of the building. For audience members entering through the rear (Park) doors, entry to the Cinema is via the corridor adjacent to Door 6 of the Forum Theatre. We very much regret that, for reasons of safety, there will be no wheelchair access to Malvern Cinema until further notice. Because of this we will be substantially increasing the number of film screenings in the Forum Theatre, which remains accessible to wheelchair users. For more access information please click HERE.
