Everybody Knows (15)

2nd May 2019 7:45 pm

Laura returns to her childhood home for her sister’s wedding and catches up with all her old friends. Spirits are high, but as the wedding celebrations are well underway a terrifying kidnapping will test relationships and reveal buried secrets. Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem, and Ricardo Darin star in this Spanish language thriller that will keep you gripped throughout.

Living in Buenos Aires with her husband Alejandro (Ricardo Darin), Laura (Penelope Cruz) hasn’t seen her family or hometown friends in years. The wait is almost over, though. Her younger sister, Ana (Inma Cuesta) is getting married, which means Laura will be travelling back to Madrid.

Leaving Alejandro at home, Laura and her two daughters arrive at the small town she grew up in. After reuniting with her sisters and father, Laura also meets an old lover, Paco (Javier Bardem). The two went their separate ways years ago, but now it feels as if no time has passed at all…

The night of the wedding brings incredible celebrations that last late into the night. But when Laura returns to check on her daughters, she discovers that her eldest, Irene (Carla Campra), has been kidnapped.

As the distressing events unfold, relationships are tested and buried secrets from the past are revealed. With everyone in the small town a suspect, Laura doesn’t know who to trust anymore…

Penelope Cruz (Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Vanilla Sky, Volver), Javier Bardem (Skyfall, No Country for Old Men, Vicky Cristina Barcelona), and Ricardo Darin (The Secret In Their Eyes, Nine Queens) star in this dramatic Spanish thriller that will be sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
