Local Hero – 40th Anniversary (12A)

5th June 2023 7:45 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

One event on 5th June 2023 at 7:45pm

Knox Oil and Gas of Houston is far removed from the North Sea oil it desires – and the sleepy Scottish seaside village it wants to buy and replace with a refinery.  So Knox sends its ace dealmaker (Peter Riegert) to negotiate.

He finds cheerful future millionaires, awesome northern lights, a lusty innkeeper, a stubborn beachcomber and a mermaid with webbed toes.

Forsyth’s touch is perfect: whether showing us a tycoon (Burt Lancaster) with his head in the stars or bridging generations at an all-night ceilidh dance.

Cert: 12A

Running time: 1hr 51mins

Please note: All entry to Malvern Cinema is currently through the fire exits located at the front (Grange Road) side of the building. For audience members entering through the rear (Park) doors, entry to the Cinema is via the corridor adjacent to Door 6 of the Forum Theatre. We very much regret that, for reasons of safety, there will be no wheelchair access to Malvern Cinema until further notice.  Because of this we will be substantially increasing the number of film screenings in the Forum Theatre, which remains accessible to wheelchair users.  For more access information please click HERE.
