Nay, Remember Me!
A comedy-drama by Amelia Marriette
The centrepiece of the Malvern Shakespeare 400 Folio Festival is the production of Amelia Marriette’s play Nay, Remember Me! which tells the true story of the making of the First Folio of Shakespeare’s plays in 1623.
The play was written for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Fringe Festival in Stratford-upon-Avon. Malvern Theatre Players revived the play in 2010; NODA nominated this production for the Best Regional Production Award for Best Drama.
NODA said: “Nay. Remember Me! has humour and pathos plus the script is exceptionally well written.” MTP will perform the play daily from 7 to 11 November, with an extra matinee performance on the 11 of November.
Amelia Marriette will also be appearing in a cameo role in the play.
Malvern Shakespeare Folio 400 Festival
Nay, Remember Me! performed by Malvern Theatre Players, runs from 7 to 11 Nov. The Malvern Shakespeare Folio 400 Festival as a whole runs from 5 to 12 Nov. Something will be happening every day at the Coach House Theatre, with a special event on the 8th, the anniversary of the publishing of Shakespeare’s First Folio in 1623!
