Mark Steel’s In Town

May 22nd 7:30 pm

Mark Steel is back in town. This time he’s coming to Great Malvern!

Every year on BBC Radio 4, comedian, columnist and author Mark Steel visits six different towns across the UK. He delves into the history, people and idiosyncrasies to try to work out what ingredients combine to make the places distinctive. He then creates a bespoke stand-up show about the town, which he performs in front of a local audience.

It’s a celebration of the sort of places in Britain that have their own fascinating stories to tell with inhabitants who are passionate about what their town has to offer. Essentially, it’s a best man speech, but about a place.

The show is now in it’s 13th series. Previously, Mark has recorded shows in well over 50 interesting and unusual places from Penzance in Cornwall to Kirkwall in Orkney with all stops between including Aberystwyth, Birkenhead, Derry, Boston, Douglas, Hull and Paisley among many many more. We would love Great Malvern locals to attend as it’s your place that we are talking about!

Tickets will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.

Running time: 90mins

How to be in the audience

Step 1: Apply for tickets via BBC Website (tickets can not be booked via Malvern Theatres Box Office)

Tickets for this show are being allocated on a first-come first-served basis, so when we receive your ticket request your details are added to the list of applicants. Tickets are usually dispatched from approximately three weeks ahead of the recording date.

Step 2: Receive a message

All eligible requests are allocated tickets in the order they are received, up to the maximum number of available tickets. If successful, we notify you by text message and send your e-ticket(s) to your email address. If unsuccessful you will be kept on the waiting list in case anyone cancels their tickets.

Step 3: Bring your tickets and ID

We do our best to get the numbers right, but unfortunately we occasionally have to disappoint people. Remember that every guest must bring original approved photo ID.

Maximum of 2 tickets per request.
Age limit: 16+ (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult at all times)
