We’re delighted that our project to re-build the front of Malvern Theatres is complete. This £2.25 million renovation has created Studio One: a brand new space comprising workshop and rehearsal areas as well as a 100-seat auditorium for live performances and film. It’s very exciting to have a space especially for workshops, rehearsals and small-scale performances and Studio One promises to deliver some inspirational results.
As well as being a venue for live performance, rehearsals and film screenings, Studio One will also be home to our expanding programme of classes and workshops. For the first time, we are able to provide sessions in the evenings and at weekends as well as during the day, widening the opportunities for participation. Details of our regular classes and workshops can be found here
Starting from September, there are 17 regular weekly classes to choose from, for people of all ages and tailored to a wide range of needs. People with multiple and profound disability will be able to attend activities with confidence, as a Changing Place facility has been installed. It will be the only one in our district. On Wednesday 19th July we celebrate Changing Places Awareness Day 2023 with a Changing Places Launch Event, a family friendly, free & fun filled launch event on Wednesday 19th July. With lots on offer for all ages and abilities, including crafts, sensory play, a relaxed film screening and Play/Create workshop with open theatre Company Director Richard Hayhow.
