The Musical Storytellers

November 13th 11:00 am

BOOKING INFORMATION: Due to the limited size of The Coach House Theatre, customers will be asked to wear face coverings beyond 19th July.

The Musical Storytellers bring well-known classical music, and the story of that music, to young audiences. With inventive, innovative and humerous presentation, children (and adults) will be entranced and entertained as they listen to the music and stories. Both educational and fun, these programmes offer an enjoyable introduction to a range of music, and numerous cross-curricular opportunities for follow-ups – drawing and colouring, creative writing, poetry, music, dance and story-telling.

Each show lasts about 30 minutes and the repertoire currently includes: Ferdinand the Bull, Peer Gynt, Carnival of the Animals, Pictures at an Exhibition, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty and more.

Shulah Oliver – Violin
Shulah regularly performs concertos and recitals in the U.K and Europe, and plays with many of the top professional orchestras. She is an outstanding chamber player and is passionate about sharing the joy of music. She is particularly noted for her ability to present music in an engaging and informative way to audiences

Chris Jaeger MBE – Narrator
Chris is a writer, director, actor, and adjudicator. For 25 years he was the Chief Executive of Worcester Live, Director of the Swan Theatre and Artistic Director of the Worcester Repertory Company. He now writes and tours small-scale theatre shows all around the country and is also the Director of the Worcester Festival.

Janine Parsons – Piano
Janine debuted at the Purcell Rooms in London, was a finalist in the Young Accompanist of the Year competition, and now performs nationally and internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. She was until recently the Principal of the Elgar School of Music in Worcester.
