Tulip Fever (15)

6th January 2019 7:45 pm

An artist falls for a young married woman while he’s commissioned to paint her portrait during the Tulip mania of 17th century Amsterdam.

Amsterdam is in the grip of ‘Tulip Fever’, with everyone gambling on the tulip market. Against this backdrop, a young artist falls in love with the woman he’s painting.

She’s unhappily married to an older, wealthy merchant, and she and the artist begin a passionate affair in secret. Desperate to buy her freedom, they enter the tulip market themselves in the hope that the right bulb will get them the money they need.

Alicia Vikander and Dane DeHaan star in ‘Tulip Fever’ alongside an outstanding cast including Christoph Waltz and Judi Dench.
