The National Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company
Ralph Rackstraw is a poor seaman who loves Josephine, his Captain’s daughter. However, she is far too high up the social ladder for him to even consider asking for her hand in marriage. He also has a rival – Sir Joseph Porter, KCB, the Ruler of the Queen’s Navee.
Founded in 1995 to perform at the annual G&S Festival, The National Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company is renowned for producing simply the very best G&S to be seen anywhere in the world. They return to Malvern Theatres in 2017 with HMS Pinafore, The Pirates of Penzance and a brand new production of Princess Ida.

What a wonderful evening! G&S always raise my spirits but when performed with such skill I am utterly transported. The singing was excellent allowing the brilliant wit of Gilbert to be heard clearly. The wonderful choreography and the outstanding quality of acting added greatly to the humour. The orchestra too was excellent.

Quite a good production and although loud enough it was impossible to understand what the female soloists were saying. One scene made a pro brexit joke which I found to be of politically bad taste. The same joke could have been made with the word "remain". Lets hope your finances are not cut to deeply after that catastrophic event has come to pass.
