Inland (15) Borderlines Film Festival – PREVIEW

11th March 2023 7:45 pm

Set in the Forest of Dean, this enigmatic thriller sees the return home of a troubled young man haunted by the disappearance of his mother.

Tensions, repressed memories and desires threaten to surface when a young man is released from psychiatric hospital. Elegantly shot, intuitively edited, with superb performances by Rylance and newcomer Rory Alexander, and an eerie score, Ryder conjures an experience of nightmarish logic, building towards an unpredictable conclusion. Making the most of its Gloucestershire location, this refreshingly offbeat, low budget film has shades of David Lynch, Nicolas Roeg and rural horror, but a mood and rhythm entirely its own.

DIRECTOR: Fridtjof Ryder
STARRING: Rory Alexander, Mark Rylance, Kathryn Hunter
UK, 2022
1 HOUR 22 MINUTES

Please note: The Q&A advertised in the Borderlines brochure will be taking place at the Courtyard, Hereford.

Please note: All entry to Malvern Cinema is currently through the fire exits located at the front (Grange Road) side of the building. For audience members entering through the rear (Park) doors, entry to the Cinema is via the corridor adjacent to Door 6 of the Forum Theatre. We very much regret that, for reasons of safety, there will be no wheelchair access to Malvern Cinema until further notice.  Because of this we will be substantially increasing the number of film screenings in the Forum Theatre, which remains accessible to wheelchair users.  For more access information please click HERE.
