The Golden Age of Steam

4th September 2018 7:45 pm

A talk by David Parker

An evening of glorious film of Britain’s steam revival and amazing stories from some of the men and women who made it happen.

After his hugely successful evening with Flying Scotsman, television programme maker, David Parker, returns to Malvern with another illustrated talk, this time about the revival of steam railways in England and Wales. David featured the Severn Valley Railway in a programme he made recently for the BBC and the men and women who saved that railway and the steam engines that still run on it will feature heavily in the talk he will be giving. The evening will be a joyous celebration of the men and women who saved some of the country’s most picturesque branch lines and the steam engines they rescued from the scrap heap to run on them. We’ll hear their incredible stories, and see rare film of the steam engines they rebuilt, running on lines they brought back to life.

Ticket price includes a £1 contribution to our heritage fund.
